Ariane Rees is a classically trained professional singer (mezzo soprano) who studied opera at the Hochschule for music and theatre in Hanover, Germany before receiving her Postgraduate Diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in London.

ariane She has performed Oratorio and Recital throughout the UK, France, Germany & Italy and regularly performs with various early music groups including the acclaimed medieval music troupe Mediva as well as recording her own renditions of early medieval Sephardic and middle eastern music and engaging in solo performances.

Ariane has travelled widely researching her interests in traditional music such as overtone singing, Armenian chant and Georgian polyphonic music as well as traditional cultural experiences of singing and pregnancy.

As well as performing regularly, Ariane is currently teaching singing and piano at her voice studios and is actively looking for musicians, specifically ud and dumbek players, for an upcoming project that will hopefully air during the European summer festivals in 2006.
